  • Top 5 Reasons to do a Halftime Devotion

    1. To share what God is doing in your life.
    2. To introduce your community to Christ.
    3. Because God's love compels you.
    4. Because you've been asked to (obedience).
    5. Because public speaking isn't as scary as you think it is.
  • Welcome to the Devotion Commissioner Resource Center.  This page has been created with you in mind; the person with the responsibility of overseeing the halftime devotions in your Upward Sports League for your community. In the future, this site will also house other resources that are being created to make your devotion ministry more effective and enjoyable.

What is my responsibility when I deliver a devotion?
    1. Share what Christ is doing in your life.
    2. What is your reaction to what God is doing?
    3. How will it change the way you are currently living?

What is another way that devotions can be fun yet effective?

As you know, one of the most important parts of game day is halftime.  This is the prime opportunity to minister to the spectators through halftime devotions.  Most halftime devotions involve a speaker who shares with the audience an encouraging word from God.  There is another option, however, that you may want to consider - one that gets the audience involved and relating to one another through activities that tie to biblical principles.  Each week's activities are followed by a newsletter that you can print and distribute to spectators at either the beginning of the game or during the beginning of halftime.
